The first five minutes saw a slow start for Comets as we struggled to convert from our own centre passes. However, once we settled into the game, we found our rhythm and worked hard to level things out, finishing the first quarter at 10–10.

The second quarter continued to be a closely fought battle, with both teams matching each other goal for goal. Telstars managed to edge ahead by one at half-time, taking a 21–20 lead.

During half-time, we reflected on how we could optimise our use of space, improve the timing of our drives and put pressure on the opposition to force errors. We went back onto court with a positive mindset, ready to put these adjustments into action, and that is exactly what we did! A strong third quarter saw Comets turn things around, winning the quarter 9–7 to take a two goal lead into the final 15 minutes.

Throughout the match, tactical changes were made across centre court and attack to switch things up, create opportunities and allow each player to perform at their best. The energy in the fourth quarter was high, and although Telstars fought back to level the score at points, we refused to give up. We kept pushing, backed each other and fought right until the final whistle, winning the final quarter 11–8 to secure an impressive 40–36 victory!

A brilliant team effort, showing determination, resilience and belief when it mattered most. Amazing teamwork, well played everyone! ??
