Having had a difficult season we’d found ourselves at the Kent county playoffs. Matches for which we had to work as a team to win to secure our position for next season.
Our first match, we went out united and proceeded to be victorious with our first win against Telstars.
Coming from that match on a high we then faced our next opponent, where we snitched a win by one goal, with the team pulling together to retain possession of the ball for the final whistle.
The third match came with its own set of challenges, with the centre court working hard to provide service to our shooting circle, to secure our third win of the day.
Our fourth match was seeing us with tiring legs but still not dropping our team spirit, being down at half time by 2 goals. For the second half some fresh legs and a slight reshuffle in positions and a shear determination to win saw the team pulling together, to get it back to win by a 4 goals margin.
With everyone not getting too complacent we faced our final match of the day, with a half time score of 9-12 to us we upped the pace too, with the defence holding the attack off and the centre court working to deliver the ball to the shooters, and the shooters doing what they do best and providing us with our final win of day.
This was only possible, with the support of the coaching team, our supporters and the team working as a team.
Our wins are dedicated to our senior coach who was unable to be there. I hope we’ve done you proud.
Well done everyone, and let’s take the 26-27 seasons like we’ve performed today…. GO COMETS ?
