Claygate demonstrated strong defensive organisation throughout, applying consistent pressure that proved difficult for the Comets’ attack to break down. As a result, our shooters found limited opportunities to establish their usual rhythm.

Comets’ defensive unit worked diligently to try to disrupt Claygate’s flow, to try to regain possession and recycle the ball. Across the game, gradual improvements were visible in attacking patterns and transitions. Although the scoreline widened, the team successfully shifted focus to achieving smaller, more immediate goals, which led to a closer contest in the second half.

This was very much a full squad performance, with effective use of substitutions and positional rotations ensuring all players contributed. The match provided valuable learning points to take back into training, offering a clear pathway for development and progression.
