Comets 38 vs New Edition 45

Our second Kent league match of the season and from the first whistle Comets went on court with high intensity from defence through to attack. The defensive pressure through the court allowed us to force some mistakes on the opposition and gain some turnovers to give us a 11-7 lead after the first quarter.

Going into the second quarter, the pace of the game intensified. Comets continued to deliver high pressure as well as working for each other in attack with fast accurate balls to the shooters. Although our opposition had started to settle and we knew that this was going to be a close competitive match. At the end of the second quarter Comets took a 3 goal lead.

The third quarter Comets benefited from some great communication and patience as a squad however the change in combinations from the opposition caused us to take a little longer to adjust, which they took the opportunity to gain a couple of turnovers and ending this quarter only one goal behind us.

The final quarter Comets initially gained a little goal lead back however, unfortunately we had and couple of injuries which caused some last minute changes in the last quarter that took a little time to adjust to. Comets didn't let their heads drop and kept playing to the standard throughout until the final whsitle. Unfortunately for Comets, New Edition went out fighting for the win in the last quarter and ended up taking the lead. With the final score being 38-45 to New Edition.
